Celebrating: New Works Manuscript Submission Process:
 

Celebrating: New Works is a monthly play reading series held on the first Monday of every month. The series is dedicated to giving voice to original, completed and previously unproduced works. The manuscripts are read by our staff and evaluated on their artistic merit, message and alliance with our mission statement. For a work to be considered it must meet the following criteria:

• Works must be original and of a full and completed length. No synopsis, excerpts or plot descriptions will be accepted.
• Works must never have been produced.
• Works must fit into the Celebration Theatre Mission Statement of providing a dynamic outlet for progressive gay and lesbian voices in contemporary theater.
• No musicals will be considered for this series.


To submit a manuscript for consideration, please send the full-length work with the following materials

• A brief (one page) description of your play. This may include plot, characters, conflict, motivation for writing it. Anything you think will help us understand the world of this particular play.
• Character descriptions
• Any supporting materials such as a resume, reviews or letters of recommendation.
• Biographical and contact information for the playwright.


The playwright will receive no correspondence or confirmations from the Celebration Theatre Company unless the manuscript has been chosen for the Celebrating: New Works play reading series.

Any materials including the author's work will not be returned once they have been submitted.
